John and Gloria Cathcart
John and Gloria Cathcart met while attending International Bible College in San Antonio, Texas, and have been happily married for twenty-nine years.
Gloria grew up as a pastor’s kid and missionary’s kid. Her parents were missionaries in Nigeria, Africa and later returned to Tuscumbia, Alabama where they pastored for over forty years. Gloria’s grandparents, John and Celia Dodge (Celia grew up in Big Sandy, MT), raised eleven children while serving the Lord as evangelists and missionaries all over the world.
John’s grandparents on both sides of his family were also missionaries for over fifty years in many nations of the world. His grandfather, a missionary in Japan, returned to the States during a time of furlough and established International Bible College and Destiny Church in San Antonio, TX. This is where John and Gloria eventually met and were sent out of as missionaries to Japan and Russia where they worked for thirteen years.
The Cathcarts returned to America with the desire to raise their four children with roots in America. The family came to Montana where they started what is today Last Chance Chapel. John and Gloria’s four children- John Israel, Autumn Grace, Bethany Joy and Joseph David all live in Montana and are all walking with the Lord. Autumn and her husband, William Parsons have two beautiful daughters, Shilah Sky and Makiah Rain. These two girls are the sunshine of the Cathcarts’ and Parsons’ home.
It has been the deepest dream of John and Gloria to return to Russia as missionaries. They plan to travel through the remote villages of Siberia by dog-sled team while planting churches and spreading the Good News of the Gospel to these areas.
