Elders
Gil and Chery Wooden have been Helena natives since 1967. Gil has been teaching in the schools of Helena for the past forty-three years and is currently the Administrator of Last Chance Academy. They have been married for forty-three years and have been serving the Lord for over forty-five years.
Woody and Shelley Woodworth are known throughout Helena for their business “Woody’s Sawmill and Lumber” on Birdseye road. Together Woody and Shelley accepted Jesus in their hearts July 11, 1981. They have been married for thirty-seven years. Woody and Shelley have been close family to those at Last Chance Chapel for over eight years.
Jim gave his heart to the Lord in 1973 while hitch hiking from Anaconda to Missoula. Although he did not know Barbara at the time he was led to the Lord by a Baptist minister, who gave him a ride, who happened to be the father of one of Barb's best friends.
Barb grew up in Butte and came to know Jesus there through a coffee house ministry in 1971.
Jim and Barb have been married and serving the Lord to together since 1976.
Jim owns Furshong Painting and Barb works as an LPN at Helena Physicians Clinic. They have one daughter and three grandchildren.
Steve and Tracie Olson have been married for twenty-three years. They are the owners of High Country Coffee House in Helena. They lived in Alaska for about twenty years working a chain of retail stores, like a modern day trading post, before moving to Helena four years ago. Their little coffee house has been the haven of many prayer meetings and fellowship times for the people of Last Chance Chapel.
Vern and Nora McTaggart have been married forty-nine years. Nora has been serving the Lord fifty-five years and Vern for fifty-nine years. Their home has been the path of light to Christ for many travelers who have lost their way. Vern and Nora have four kids, twenty grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Gabe and Sue have been married eighteen years. Sue is the music director at Last Chance Chapel. They have been coming to the church for about ten years.
Bill and Sandy Hardie were both raised in Montana and have been married forty-nine years. They have contributed much to Last Chance Chapel, including the ground that the church stands on. Bill and Sandy have been walking with the Lord for many years.
